I’m Maria Vazquez-Machado, an MD candidate at Ponce Health Sciences University, set to graduate in May 2025. My educational journey includes a bachelor’s degree in Cellular-Molecular Biology with a minor in Human Rights from the University of Puerto Rico. Throughout medical school, I have developed a passion for dermatology and research, with a particular interest in skin of color characteristics, skin cancer, Mohs surgery, and autoimmune skin disorders. My primary goal in medicine is to become a dermatologist and contribute to reducing healthcare disparities in underserved communities.
